Trevinca Skies hosts remotely operated telescopes for astrophotographers around the world. We’re looking for a technician to keep the observatory running end to end — from unboxing a new client’s gear to the small fixes that keep every mount, camera, and roof working through the night.

• Set up new client equipment: mounting, balancing, initial polar alignment, and cable management
• Resolve hardware issues on hosted telescopes, from loose connections to mechanical adjustments
• Maintain observatory infrastructure: roll-off roofs, weather stations, safety sensors, and backup power
• Manage the network and power infrastructure behind each imaging rig
• Carry out optical maintenance — collimation, tilt correction, and careful cleaning of lenses, mirrors, and sensors
• Receive, inspect, and prepare equipment shipped in by clients
• Serve as the technical point of contact for our international client base

• Real background in amateur astrophotography — comfortable with mounts, autoguiding, plate solving, and cooled cameras
• Experience with tilt correction, collimation, and cleaning optics and mirrors
• Practical mechanical and electrical aptitude
• Solid knowledge of Windows and local networking
• Familiarity with NINA, ASCOM, Alpaca
• Good written English — spoken is less important, as client support runs through Discord
• Available for occasional evening hours around the start of imaging sessions — the role is primarily daytime
